The February Newsletter!

THANK YOU to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation!

In January, Pushing Boundaries was lucky enough to receive a very generous $24,000 grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve

Foundation to help set up a scholarship for clients! This Scholarship will allow new clients the chance to work with PB on a consistent schedule who otherwise may not have been able to. We are so grateful for this grant, and all the support The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation has given us over the years! The foundation is also a great resource for those living with paralysis and their loved ones and caregivers!

Check Out ET James Speaking at ACSM!

Our very own Exercise Therapist James spoke at the 2024 Northwest American College of Sports Medicine research conference in Moscow, Idaho, this past weekend! His lecture covered exercise therapy, specialized therapy equipment, and adaptive exercise programming. We were very excited to have James representing Pushing Boundaries at this conference!

Thank You Rainier Adaptive Sports!

Rainier Adaptive Sports held the Northwest Presidents Cup this past weekend, an exciting wheelchair basketball tournament that brought teams from Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Portland, and BC! Pushing Boundaries got to be part of the fun on day 2 of the Tournament.

Rainier Adaptive Sports offers seasonal programs on a quarterly basis such as Wheelchair Basketball, Goalball, Beep Baseball, a Race Team, and Socials!

South of Seattle? Check out Metro Parks Tacoma!

Did you know that Metro Parks Tacoma has a range of adaptive and inclusive programs for individuals with disabilities? Programs include an array of sports (Including Rainier Adaptive Sports teams!), tournaments, camps & clinics, and social outings! Check them out HERE!

Mastering the Lokomat!

The team had a second intensive training with Hocoma, the creators of the Lokomat, earlier this month and have been excited to revamp client Lokomat sessions to make them even more successful! Haven't tried the Lokomat yet? Ask your therapist about adding it into your schedule!

Curious to Learn More About PB?

Ever wonder what a typical day at Pushing Boundaries looks like?

Whether you are new to the PB family, or a long time supporter who hasn't been able to see the facility in person in a while, we encourage all of our supporters to come take a tour and see Pushing Boundaries in action! If you interested in stopping by, email Kristen at kristen@pushing-boundaries.org to set up a time!
